The Chaining Buddy lets you accurately measure continuous distances of up to 2.5 kilometer travelled in rough country or forested conditions. Install a new roll of thread and you can continue to measure. Ideal for timber cruising, forest inventory, tree planting, mapping, surveying and claim staking.
To measure, simply clip the Chaining Buddy to
your belt, tie the topofil thread to a fixed object at your starting
point, and begin walking in your chosen direction. As the topofil pulls
out, a counter continuously displays the distance that has been
travelled. The 2500 meters of topofil on the spool provide plenty of
linear measuring before a replacement spool is required. Measuring with
Chaining Buddy leaves your hands free to do other tasks. At the end of
measuring, snap off the thread. No need the rewind, the fiber quickly
